In 1972, the Stafford Machine Corporation was formed by Carlos Stafford. We are located in Watertown, New York where we maintain and operate a complete fabrication and machine shop facility. Carlos Stafford remained president of the company until 1991 when he was succeeded by his son, Charles E. Stafford, who remains president to this day.
Stafford Machinery Corporation is in the business of buying, selling, rebuilding, and building new paper mill machinery. Our rebuild projects have ranged from simple reconditioning of reels, calendars, and winders to the complete rebuild and assembly and start up of entire paper machines of various types. We perform rebuild projects for other used paper machinery dealers, and design and build new products to meet customer requirements as well. In several occasions, we have removed paper machines for our customers and relocated this machinery to other mills that they own and operate. We house a complete fabrication and machine shop facility that also has vast space for the assembly of paper mill equipment. We have the ability to perform work for many other industries as well, including but not limited to, electricity generation, foundry and mining, as well as government facilities.
In 1985, we realized a need to further diversify our operations, and integrated a company, Cyclotherm Inc. Operating under the same name the company has had since the 1940’s, we build high quality boilers for the United States Government, as well as commercial industry out of our facility right here in Watertown, NY.
